Upholstery Estimate Policy
The purpose of this policy is to outline the process for providing accurate, transparent, and fair upholstery estimates to customers. It serves as a guide for both customers and staff in understanding the costs and terms associated with upholstery services.
Request for Estimate
All estimates are free with no obligation. Customers can request an upholstery estimate via:
- In-person Visit: Customers can bring their furniture or fabric to the shop for evaluation.
- Online Estimate: To obtain your free estimate, please submit an Estimate Form at alexupholsteryshop.com. All details are required to provide a detailed and accurate estimate. After the estimate form is complete and accepted, your project will be added to the waitlist. If the estimate form is not completed, your project will not be added to the waitlist.
- Phone Consultation: No estimates are given over the phone without the Estimate Form completed on our website alexupholsteryshop.com.
Materials and Fabric Selection
- Customers will be provided with fabric options based on their budget, desired aesthetic, and durability needs.
- If the customer provides their own fabric, the company will ensure it is appropriate for upholstery use.
- Any additional costs for special materials (e.g., leather, high-end fabrics) will be disclosed upfront.
Detailed Estimate
The estimate will include the following:
- Labor Costs: Calculated based on the time and expertise required for the job.
- Materials Costs: Breakdown of fabric, foam, padding, and any special materials used.
- Additional Services: Costs for any additional services (e.g., re-stuffing cushions, frame repair, decorative elements).
- Delivery and Pickup: If applicable, transport fees will be included.
- Validity Period: Estimates are typically valid for 30 days. After this period, prices may change based on material costs, labor rates, or other factors.
Payment Terms and Additional Information
- We accept Cash, Check, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
- Free estimates and consultation.
- A 50% down payment is required upfront, and the final payment is due upon completion of the work.
- We offer free pickup and delivery up to 20 miles one way for all orders over $500.
- All checks returned due to insufficient funds are subject to a $20 NSF fee.
- Due to price fluctuations of materials and the discovery of additional required labor, prices are subject to increase by up to 10% without notice.
- We prefer to use our own fabric/leather. For customer-provided materials (C.O.M.), there is a $25.00 fee per yard for fabric and a $3.00 fee per square foot for leather.
- We do not take responsibility for misuse or mishandling of any materials brought in by the customer. We only guarantee the quality of our own materials and leather.
Terms and Conditions
- Accuracy of Information: The final estimate may vary if the customer provides inaccurate or incomplete information regarding the furniture or services required.
- Changes to Scope: If, during the work process, any changes are made to the original agreement (e.g., additional repairs, change in fabric choice), a revised estimate will be provided for approval before proceeding.
Additional Charges
- Rush Fees: If the customer requires expedited service, a rush fee may be added to the estimate.
- Repair Fees: If repairs are needed to the furniture frame or structural components, an additional charge will be included.
- Fabric Overages: If the fabric selected requires more material than originally estimated, the customer will be notified, and the cost of the additional fabric will be added to the final bill.
