Notes from the workbench: starting new
Once in a while a piece arrives that has never been sat on. Local woodshops send us bare frames, and owners bring factory furniture they want dressed in something better than the showroom cover. New furniture work means we choose everything: the padding, the springing where it belongs, and fabric that suits the life the piece is headed for.
Building up from bare wood is a treat, honestly. No old staples to fight, no mystery repairs hiding under burlap, just clean layers going on in the right order with high-density foam and cloth cut fresh from the roll. The result is furniture finished to a standard the factory line rarely has time for. Our new furniture upholstery covers these builds as readily as rescues.
