We’re so excited to show off our recent project – a beautiful Rinker boat that we reupholstered from top to bottom. The boat originally had a very dated and worn out interior, but we gave it new life with fresh, modern fabrics. We love the way it turned out and we know you will too! Notes from the workbench: a full set of boat seats
This was a full seating redo, the kind of job where the boat leaves our lot looking ten years younger than it arrived. Helm chairs, benches, and bolsters all get stripped to their frames, and everything soft gets replaced rather than patched.
Open-boat seats usually hide their real trouble underneath. The vinyl may only look tired while the staples holding it have rusted through and the wood bases have gone soft. We rebuild bases where needed, fasten with stainless staples, and top it all with marine-grade vinyl cut to the original lines. High-density foam goes where you sit, a softer grade where you lean, a small detail that makes a long day on the water feel shorter. Every seam gets UV-stable thread, since stitching is always the first thing the sun goes after.
