Wingback Chair Restoration – Hand-Tied Coil Spring Upholstery
This classic wingback chair came into our Lebanon, PA workshop in need of a full restoration. While the frame was solid and the carved wooden legs were beautiful, the seat had lost its support and the upholstery was outdated.
✨ Before: Sagging seat, worn fabric, and tired look.
✨ After: Fully restored with eight-way hand-tied coil springs, new padding, and fresh fabric — preserving the traditional design while improving comfort and durability.
Restoration Process:
-
Removed old upholstery and padding
-
Rebuilt the foundation using hand-tied coil springs for long-lasting comfort
-
Replaced worn foam and padding
-
Upholstered in a durable, modern fabric selected by the client
-
Finished with attention to detail, keeping the chair’s elegant style intact
Why Hand-Tied Coil Springs?
This traditional upholstery method provides unmatched support, comfort, and durability compared to machine-made alternatives. Each spring is tied in eight directions by hand, creating a supportive and resilient seat that will last for decades.
