The whole point of a lumbar back sofa is the spot most sofas ignore. That support comes from graduated padding, denser and fuller through the lower back, and it flattens out over years of use until the sofa feels like every other tired couch on the block.
Rebuilding one means restoring the gradient, not just adding stuffing. We shape high-density foam through the lumbar zone, ease it off toward the shoulders, and check the profile with an actual human sitting in it, which remains the most reliable instrument we own.
