At Alex Upholstery, we honor traditional craftsmanship by restoring antique furniture the right way — from the inside out. This recent project featured a beautiful 1920s antique sofa and matching chair, both with solid wood trim and original hand-tied coil spring systems on the seat and the back.
These classic pieces arrived in our workshop showing signs of age: sagging support, worn upholstery, and visible frame stress. But underneath it all, they held timeless beauty and quality worth saving.

Fully stripped to the original hardwood frame

Rebuilt and reinforced structure for long-term strength

Installed new coil springs, hand-tied by our craftsmen, both on seat and back — just like it was done a century ago

Added new burlap, webbing, and padding layers for proper support

Carefully upholstered in a rich, patterned red fabric to match the period style
