Boston Whalers have a reputation for being unsinkable, which means the hulls outlast their upholstery several times over. We see Whalers from decades back still running strong, wearing seat cushions that gave up long, long ago.
Upholstery for a boat like this has to try to match that durability. We pattern each cushion and backrest off the boat itself, build on bases that tolerate water, and sew marine-grade vinyl with UV-stable thread so the stitching does not quit before the material does. Foam is chosen by position, quick-dry types where rain and spray will reach, firmer closed-cell support where the cushion doubles as a step, because on a Whaler everything doubles as a step eventually. Snaps and fasteners go in stainless so nothing streaks rust down the new work.
