A backrest built to take the spray
A boat backrest looks like a simple thing until you open one up. Inside a tired one you will usually find a waterlogged backer board, foam that smells like the bottom of the lake, and seams that quit a season ago.
Our fix is not complicated, just thorough. A new base that can live around water, foam picked to shed moisture instead of hoarding it, and marine-grade vinyl pulled drum tight and sewn with UV-stable thread. Solid hardware gets reused, rusty hardware gets replaced, and the finished backrest snaps onto the boat the way the factory intended. We also leave a drainage path at the bottom edge, because water always finds a way in and deserves a way out.
