New fabric on a wobbly frame is a haircut on a patient who needs a doctor. Before any upholstery happens, we deal with what is underneath, because the prettiest cover in the world cannot fix a chair that creaks. Furniture tells you where it hurts if you flip it over and look.
On a combined repair and recover job, our checklist usually looks like this:
- Regluing and clamping loose joints
- Retying or replacing tired springs
- Fresh webbing, padding, and high-density foam
Only then does the new fabric go on, sewn and fitted so the piece looks as good as it now sits. That order of operations is the quiet difference between proper furniture upholstery and a quick recover that fails in two years.
