Built for sun and spray
Boat seats never get to come inside. On a center console like a Sailfish 218 they take spray on the run out and full sun the rest of the day, so the materials do the heavy lifting. We build seats like these with marine-grade vinyls, foam that will not hold water against the base, and thread that ignores UV instead of quietly rotting in it.
Fit matters just as much on the water. Covers get patterned tight to the bases so nothing flaps at speed, and seams are placed away from the spots where hips and gear grind all season long. A seat done this way stays comfortable and cleanable for years of weekends. Our custom cushion work covers boats as happily as it covers window seats.
