We do not get many toy boxes, and we enjoy every one. A padded lid on a toy box leads an eventful life: bench, stage, and occasionally a landing pad for a flying superhero. Parents ask if the new cover will hold up. It will, because we build it like work equipment that happens to be cute.
That means sturdy, cleanable fabric, foam that recovers after the hundredth slam, and rounded, well-padded corners, since shins and toddlers find corners with impressive accuracy. The cover is fixed down so little fingers cannot work it loose, and every seam is sewn to survive being climbed on. It is the smallest job our upholstery service takes on and one of the most appreciated.
