Keeping the lines honest
Mid century chairs are all silhouette. The padding is thin and shaped, the frames are lean, and there is nowhere for sloppy work to hide. A boa back design carries a curve that has to flow in one clean sweep, so the foam under it gets shaped by hand until it reads right from every angle in the room.
We strip these chairs to the frame, replace tired padding with high-density foam trimmed to the original profile, and pull the new cover tight enough that the lines stay crisp for years. Fabric choice matters too; a heavy texture can blur a slim chair, so we talk that through before a single yard is ordered. This is the quiet, careful end of our chair reupholstery work, and one of our favorites.
